About Citizen Potawatomi Nation Tribal Members Blog by Bob Liles
I am an Oklahoma born and raised Citizen Band Potawatomi Indian. I am an Elder in our tribe and I am 64 years of age. My wife of 40 years, Marita, and I currently reside in Mesa, Arizona. My Tribe's name has been changed to the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. Mr. John Barrett, our Chairman and the President of one of our finest investments which is a bank on Main Street in Shawnee, a great and fine man of honor, has helped our tribe rise to a height for all of us a way to participate in our tribal member's benefit and maybe a possibility of us actually sharing in our own personal tribal member Gaming "Profits Sharing" being split equally between the Tribe and our individual members each month. Half for the Tribe to invest and half for all the members/owners of said Tribal Gaming Investments paying off so largely. And receiving a check to cash every month for our families who do own the Tribe and all the holdings "perpetually". We own our businesses and Casinos and I believe we should all get a pay check each month like our employees do along with all the Tribal Employees in our Administration. All of these employees enjoy better medical, dental, and eye insurance than the rest of us and better insurance than the Owners of their jobs. I guess we all are aware of the Shakopee Tribe in Florida sharing over $88,000 per month every month until there is no more profits or they keep on coming. They believe in no "double-talk" about "Why" the Shakopee's are sharing with all the tribal members. It is the right thing to do. I personally and individually had never even given thought to something like all these things being possible for us back when I lived in Shawnee when I was growing up in the 1950's, '60's and 70's. I give John, Linda Capps, and all the staff involved kudos! I receive my blood pressure medicine and other meds in the mail from our Tribal Pharmacy from very efficient staff. I am thankful for the benefit tribal members like me, out of Oklahoma and Pottawatomie County, receiving this benefit. I need teeth... and I have no cash left over from my SSD check each month. I am very proud of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation's forward progress investing into many various businesses which some have become very lucrative. Excellent management. Now it is time to share our wealth. This is only my site so if everyone who agrees with me does what I did and spread the word to all other family tribal members, then we just may get the business committee and John Barrett to agree to share "ALL OUR WEALTH". Not just donate to police and other non-Indian things while tribal members are doing without cash to live. I am tired of living on the edge and they live so much better. We own the tribe and all holdings.
